Behind the Scenes - Nike Music Shoe Video

I posted a commercial that nike released featuring two Japanese Dj's playing a sick beat with shoes a couple weeks ago. We now get a sneak behind the scenes into how the video was made and how they experimented with the concept of creating music with shoes. I didn't actually think they were dj'ing for real and so this behind the scenes video was quite an eye opener for me. The shoes were lined with sensors that helped the create different sounds and they developed a software for it as well. Heres the video:

Photography

Its about time that i put some of my own work up on here so I've decided to showcase more of my photography. I get time to do photography over the weekend and I've had the chance to do some photography in cambridge and some of you might have seen my intro video with some of the pictures from this photoshoot. Anyway here are some pics

Iron Man Premier

On Monday night a huge guestlist of stars graced the red carpet for the world premier of Iron Man 2. The list included Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mickry Rourke and Scarlett Johansson. Even Hugh Hefner showed up for the premier at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.

The trailer looks crazy but i have to admit i haven't even seen the first movie yet. The movie is set to release on the 30th of april in the UK. Here are some pics from the premier on monday.

Avatar Sequel

More information has been given about Avatar's sequel, the huge hit that took 3d movies to the next level is close to the release of their 2nd film. James Cameron spoke to L.A. Times and shared more details on the up coming sequel thats set to release in august.

The booming franchise is already set to release a sequel and 'threequel' apparently, which basically means it wont be long before fans can watch the entire Avatar trilogy. The most exciting aspect for me was that Cameron said the sequel will explore the underwater portion of Pandora and that we will get to see even more of the rain forests as seen in the first film. The CG was the most exciting part for me because the story line wasn't all that exciting. It definitely was the first time I had seen anything like that in terms of graphics.
More importantly when asked about it the academy award winner said "And I'm going to be focusing on the ocean on Pandora, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won't be a rain forest. I'm not saying we won't see what we've already seen; we'll see more of that as well."
Here is an interview with the director where he talks about his collective inspirations and more about the sequel. He also reveals working on developing a better script so that the next film will be even better.

Louis Vuitton bringing Legends together

Louis Vuitton have released a great commercial right before the World Cup starring 3 footballing legends, Pele, Maradona and Zindane. The commercial features Pele and Zidane playing a game of foosball while Maradona talks directly to the camera. They also got Annie Leibovitz to do the photography for this campaign. She has done work for Rolling Stones magazine and her work has been featured in galleries all over the world. Anyway, the entire campaign has a great look and there's definitely some great bags in the back ground. Enjoy

Chivalrous Culture

Chivalrous Culture is a clothing line started by Diggy Simmons, the son of Joseph Simmons who co-founded Run-DMC. I haven't actually seen too much of the clothing line but he posted a bunch of pictures of the kicks he's about to launch. They are fly and the logo looks really nice as well. The shoe comes in a white, black, grey and a dark red or maroon. Here are some pics:

UNITED- The Title race is'nt over yet!

Another fantastic second half performance put United back on top of the Premier League and with only two games left the title race seems to getting more and more interesting every week. The first half lacked chances and Tottenham controlled most of the opening play. Even after half an hour of the game gone, it lacked a shot on target. Nani and Valencia were the brightest sparks for United in the opening half and Nani went on to score the crucial goal. Giggs started the scoring off with a neatly taken penalty after Evra was brought down by Assou Ekotto. Ledley King's equaliser shocked the Old Trafford faithful and noise level dropped significantly until Nani pulled a piece of brilliance out of the bag. 2 Giggs penalties along with Nani's great chip sealed the deal for United in another great week. The pressure is on Chelsea to beat Stoke at home tomorrow and I'm pretty sure I'l be glued to the TV watching that one as well. Other interesting fixtures included Arsenal and Man City who drew a blank at the Emirates even with the 8 minutes added on which was the only part of the game that I got to see. Anyway here are some pictures from the weekend's games so far:

Hightops

The kicks posts have started becoming slightly too frequent so I've decided that now the sneakers posts are going to be longer but less frequent. This time I've chosen two of the nicest high tops that have released lately. The Nike Sb High Grand (Purple & Black) and the New Supra Summer Injection Nylon Pack.

Nike SB Grand Purple and Black
This great pair of kicks come equipped with a classic tri-tone colour way and Purple Black and White. I might be getting over dunks because other great kicks have been dropping lately but these are elegant and have a different colour scheme which is nice.

The Summer Injection Pack
This pack consists of the Thunder, Thunder low and the Society Models. To be more precise one is the normal Supra high top cut and there is the sky top version as well as the low's. They do have a slight green lining which I really like as well. The Sky tops are my favourite as usual because I think that the traditional supra high tops have a slight converse look. They basically look like the new converse weapons.

New Banksy Works

San Francisco got a taste of the new Banksy recently when two Banksy originals turned up around the city. Its typically his style and the writing also reflects his type of humour. It was probably the perfect way to celebrate the premier of his film/documentary 'Exit Through The Gift Shop.' Apparently there are also rumours that these are fakes but they look like signature Banksy to me, plus they've probably been covered already so....some pics after the cut

A Bathing Ape 17th Anniversary Tee

I've seen some nice Bape tee's out recently but I definitely have a favourite. I realise most Baby Milo tee's are relatively simple and have similar designs but this one is slightly different. Its hand printed but artist and designer NIKO. The T-shirt is for A Bathing Ape's 17th anniversary and will be showcased along with other works which will also be part of several workshops that NIKO is holding. Here are some pictures:

Single-Lil Wayne (Video)

Lil Wayne just released the video for 'Single', a track off his album 'No Ceilings'. The video is directed by Dj Scoob Doo and produced by Drake and 40 omen. The songs pretty smooth but the video is nothing special. Its just wayne basking in the freedom of being single.

New Dunks

Nike have released 2 new high top dunks, called 'Skunk' and 'Iron Man'. I have to admit I'm not a big fan of the Skunk but Iron Man's are pretty sweet. The only problem is both are suede and ive had bad experiences with my suede Puma's only because they are hard to maintain and if i rock them back home they wont last a day.
Anyway check both of them:

United - Derby Glory

A late winner from Paul Scholes left the red side of Manchester singing when the final whistle blew this saturday at the Eastlands. The United veteran headed in a goal in the 92nd minute with only 17 seconds to play. This is the third time we've beat Manchester City in added time and its been pretty brutal. It almost makes me feel bad (who am I kidding, it was AWESOME). Not only was yesterday a great day because of the win for United but also because Chelsea lost to Tottenham at White Hart Lane. Another good sign for United fans is that John Terry got sent off which means the 3 match ban will keep him out of their away game at liverpool. Of colurse the hope is that Chelsea will drop points there and we can retain top spot again.
The game wasn't loaded with chances as you would expect from a derby, but United had the upper hand for most of the game. They created the better opportunities and even though city had their chances in the second half the winner from Paul Scholes settled it for once and for all. United have done the double over city and we knocked them out of the Carling Cup so i think its pretty clear who the dominant side in Manchester is. Here are some pics from Man Utd v Man City:
